Thursday, 04 April 2019
Oxford Brookes University are excited to announce that we will be hosting the 2019 International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference (IEEC)on September 4th - September 6th 2019.
The IEEC provides a unique forum for enterprise and entrepreneurship educators and practitioners to share experiences and engage with others.
The IEEC is calling for contributions from those working in higher and further education relating to the spectrum of Enterprise and Education. As this years conference host we would love as many contributions to come from our internal academics. There are 3 ways to contribute, which have been listed below.
Facilitate a 50 minute interactive session
Present a 50 minute seminar
Present a PechaKucha style 20x20 session
Further information is included below.
All sessions should be structured to explore the successes and challenges of
working in this area, and to support both the delegates and the presenters to explore issues,
opportunities and constraints through a number of themed tracks.
We will be hosting support workshops for any potential IEEC submissions on April 30th 12-2pm, and May 14th 12-2pm in Fuller 106C. Please sign up using the following link.
How to submit:
To submit your session/contribution please complete the IEEC 2019 session submission form and submit by Friday May 31st 2019. The submission form can be downloaded here.
Themes of the conference
We encourage submissions that explore the primary themes from a variety of perspectives. Additionally, submissions that compare and contrast approaches across traditional boundaries, or explore barriers/issues within different areas are also welcome.
These are only a guide and we will be pleased to receive proposals that cover other topics that fall within the primary themes.
1. Enterprise within the curriculum
2. Extra and Co-curricular enterprise education
3. Supporting start-up, growth and scale-up
4. Enterprise education beyond graduation
5. Enterprise for 21st century working lives
6. Social enterprise and innovation
Further information regarding the key themes can be found here.
Opportunities to contribute to IEEC 2019
We encourage all the educators at Oxford Brookes University, whose work is aligned with the themes above, to contribute one of the following options available. Please note, that this years IEEC are keen for students to participate as co-facilitators. If this is something you are keen to pursue, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Option 1 - Interactive session
The first option for contribution is a 50 minute interactive session. The content of your session can be underpinned by research or practice. We encourage submissions that specifically provide “take-away” knowledge, experience, and practice for delegates.
Option 2 – Seminar
The second option for contribution is a 50 minute seminar. The content of your seminar can be underpinned by research or practice. Seminars provide an opportunity to share with delegates the session leader’s learning from practice or research. The seminar should consist of a 35 minute presentation, followed by 15 minutes Q & A.
Option 3 – PechaKucha 20x20 presentation
The third option for contribution is a PechaKucha 20x20 presentation. This is a simple presentation format that involves 20 images being shown for 20 seconds each, resulting in a total presentation of just under 7 minutes.
For more information and guidance on PechaKucha please click here.
If you wish to submit a PechaKucha presentation a 20 slide template will be provided.
As Oxford Brookes is hosting this year’s conference, we encourage all Brookes educators and practitioners who are aligned with the themes of entrepreneurship listed to apply with their entries. If you have any questions regarding the submission of contributions, or attending the event, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you there!
