Thrive Festival 2019

Inspiration alert! The THRIVE festival is taking over Oxford Brookes University this November to promote original ideas, ambition and inspiration!

For two weeks, from Monday 18 to Saturday 30 November, a range of free events, competitions, workshops and socials will help students, staff and recent graduates, grow their talents, realise their full potential and develop themselves – as well as indulge in a bit of on-campus ‘celebrity spotting’ too.

THRIVE festival is the brainchild of Brookes Enterprise Support and the result of collaborations with the most incredible, big-name entrepreneurs, awe-inspiring people, innovative brands and all round big hitters, when it comes to business. See the full THRIVE festival line-up!

“No matter what your ambition or career goals are, THRIVE festival will bring you new insights and new ideas to help unlock your future path and make your dreams become your reality" said Brookes Enterprise Support Manager, Lydiah Igweh.

“We are looking to help those who are willing to challenge themselves and develop their ideas, using innovative tools, activities and opportunities.  And it’s all FREE – come and see for yourself!”

THRIVE comes with an inbuilt guarantee that participants will gain  loads of new experiences, meet incredible people – both on and off the stage - and leave with a new level of inspiration. The festival will cover practical tips on developing skills and ideas that attendees can use in any industry or field.

The line-up intentionally covers a broad spectrum of industries and opportunities, with events including DREAM BUILD SUCCEED: LIVE, a panel of speakers sharing stories on how they honed their dreams into reality. This must-attend panel will give attendees the ideas, knowledge and inspiration to kick-start a business or social enterprise adventure.

The panel includes a wealth of famous faces, they are:

Jamie Laing - Made in Chelsea, Founder of Candy Kittens

Ben Lebus - Founder of MOB Kitchen

Sian Gabbidon - Winner of The Apprentice 2018 and founder of Sian MArie

Jamala Osman - Motivational Speaker, and Spoken Word Artist

Other unmissable THRIVE highlights include:

  • INNOVATION OPEN DOORS–  get behind the scenes at Oxford’s most innovative businesses and meet the brains behind the ideas

  • BLOOM – this fabulous new programme brings women together to develop their confidence, explore their ideas and create a network of kick-ass women.  This launch event is facilitated by Certified Business & Executive Coach, Jessica Rogers, so come along to find out more and enjoy a delicious lunch with like-minded women, including Oxford Brookes alumni Gina Akers, as seen on ITV THIS MORNING.

THRIVE is delivered in partnership with Brookes Union and with the kind sponsorship of Santander Universities, which means events are free to students, staff and recent graduates. Find out more and book a place
