Our new workshop building

To ensure appropriate spaces for activity currently based at the University’s Wheatley campus - and to facilitate enhanced teaching, research and partnership opportunities - in addition to a new teaching building, the University will build a specialist workshop building on the Headington Hill site's current top car park, next to the existing Richard Hamilton Building.

A planning application for this separate, smaller workshop building was submitted in March 2022 and can be found on the Oxford City Council planning webpages. Planning permission was granted in June 2022.

A leaflet setting out the proposed development of the workshop building was shared with local residents in February 2022 and is available to view or download.

In addition to the information on these dedicated webpages, the University hosted an online public webinar on the proposed workshop building in February 2022. During this session, members of the University and colleagues with expertise on the proposed workshop development set out the plans in further detail and answered a range of questions.
