      Participation in physical activities for children and youth with disabilities – development and evaluation of a new instrument

      This talk is delivered by a colleague from Norway who has many years of experience in working in rehabilitation - especially with children and adolescents and now has moved into research and specializes in PA in this population. There is evidence that children and youth with disabilities participate less in physical activities than their non-disabled peers. In order to increase participation – which is a main goal of (rehabilitation) interventions – it is important for service providers, policy makers and local communities to be able to evaluate patterns of participation as well as facilitators and barriers for participation for this group. Unfortunately, appropriate (digital) instruments do not exist in the Norwegian setting thus far. The lecture describes the background and process of the development of such a new instrument and puts it.
