    This work-based learning module provides trainee Advanced Critical Care Practitioners (ACCP) with the opportunity to gain recognition and academic credit for learning gained though their advanced professional practice. The module is designed to offer a flexible and practice-related approach to learning, to enhance previous Intensive Care education. Providing students with the opportunity to think critically and logically about the evidence base that informs their advanced skills and theoretical knowledge of intensive care practice.

    This module requires students to be working in an intensive care environment; on an ACCP training programme with the support of a consultant in Intensive Care Medicine. It is anticipated that students will use this module as part of their portfolio of evidence for  Advanced Critical Care Practitioner membership with the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM).

    This module, taken as part of the PGDip/MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice fulfills the FICM Curriculum for Advanced Critical Care Practitioner training.

  • If you wish to take this as a standalone module then you can apply to be a postgraduate associate student using our online application portal. You will need to register for the portal prior to proceeding with an application.

    Students must be from a respective healthcare background and have support from the clinical manager to undertake this module of study. This module requires students to be working in an intensive care environment; on an ACCP training programme with the support of a consultant in Intensive Care Medicine. It is anticipated that students will use this module as part of their portfolio of evidence for associate membership with the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM).
