This practice-focused module will enable you to develop a detailed understanding of cancer, its treatments and effects on individuals living with and beyond cancer, in order to be able to provide specialist cancer nursing care and support. The module will also provide you with an opportunity to explore models and philosophies of nursing care, so that you can plan holistic care in partnership with patients and their families, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
It also introduces students to policies for the delivery of cancer services, and critically evaluates the patient's experience their treatment and care. Students must be a registered nurse and be employed or have access to a health care setting that will enable achievement of the learning outcomes.
