Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) is a two year post-qualifying course which enables Social Workers to act as Practice Educators for social work students on placement.
Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) Stage 1 will provide students with the necessary learning to provide an appropriate learning environment for a social work student placement. It will provide the essential information needed for supporting students on placement including induction, learning theories, supervision and assessment. Teaching will be aligned to the Practice Educator Professional Stage 1 Standards (The College of Social Work, 2013), and designed to support students with developing the skills and knowledge needed to successfully support social work students on placement. PEPS students will be assessed through an assignment, observation of practice and a portfolio of evidence.
