Oxford Brookes University has been ranked amongst the "world’s top universities" in 13 subjects in the latest QS World University Rankings - up from 12 in 2019.
On 31 October 2019, Oxford Brookes Business School and The Oxford School of Hospitality Management held their annual Placement Awards ceremony. The event, hosted by the Dean of The Business School, Chris Blackburn, saw 180 students and staff celebrate what was once again another outstanding year for business and hospitality work placement students.
Oxford Brookes Hospitality student Matthew Wallace was recently part of the triumphant team at the 10th Edition of the Young Hoteliers Summit in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Two Oxford Brookes students were recently selected as finalists in the Council for Hospitality Management Education 2019 Young Guns Competition, with one going on to win the top prize.
Oxford Brookes University celebrated this year’s International Day of Happiness with an Open Lecture entitled “Happiness Just a Goal Away” by Dr. Christian Ehrlich (Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Business).
At a time when headlines report, critique and stir anti-immigration attitudes and politics, (in)hospitality towards migrants, asylum seekers and refugees is becoming highly problematic. Insufficient consideration is given to the experience and agency of migrants themselves in the societies, the communities, and the workplaces through which they transit, in which they live, settle, and work.
