Rupaul's Drag Race: Global Queer Activism or Complicit Homonormativity? with speaker Dr Daniel Conway, University of Westminster

Dr Daniel Conway joined the University of Westminster in September 2015 after having worked as Lecturer at the Open University and Loughborough University. Dr Conway was an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Post-Doctoral Fellow and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Bristol between 2006 and 2007.

Dr Daniel Conway's research is influenced by feminist and gendered approaches to international relations and also by political sociology. He is interested in how privilege is constituted, contested and destabilized. As such, he has been primarily interested in masculinities, heteronormativity and whiteness, with the empirical focus of South Africa. He is also interested in popular culture and international relations.
