Closing the gap in achievement with Dr Peter Kent, Headteacher of Lawrence Sheriff School, Rugby; National Leader of Education
Dr Kent will talk about closing the gap in achievement. He will focus on identifying and supporting those groups of children who are at greater risk of underachieving, reflecting on why, and how to improve their outcomes.
He will be responding to:
“Our schools should be engines of social mobility, helping children to overcome the accidents of birth and background to achieve much more than they may ever have imagined. But, at the moment, our schools system does not close gaps, it widens them”
