Lek and the Dogs: film screening and Q&A with the director
This event has now finished. Please see our events website for details of upcoming events at Brookes.
Who this event is for
The Ultimate Picture Palace, Cowley Road, Oxford
Andrew Kötting's spellbinding film is inspired by the true story of Ivan Mishukov, who walked out of his apartment at the age of four and spent two years living on the city streets where a pack of wild dogs adopted him. A ground-breaking crossover between narrative film and contemporary art piece, based on the award-winning play by Hattie Naylor.
This one-off screening is followed by a Q&A with the director, Andrew Kötting, and chaired by Professor Simon Kövesi, Head of Department of English and Modern Languages, Oxford Brookes University, in which they will be talking both about this film and it's companion piece Their Rancid Words - a film set in a hinterland within the 'elsewhere', where a lone character meanders in search of meaning and understanding.
