Details

Come to our PGCE open day and find out about the PGCE Primary and PGCE Post-Compulsory at Oxford Brookes University. You can chat 1-1 with our course lecturers and find out all about a career in teaching.

Our PGCE Primary has two pathways, the 3-7 age range and the 5-11 age range.

Our course content is based on a reflective and critical approach to theory, policy and practice, through university-based teaching sessions and periods of practical placement in schools across your chosen age range.

You will learn the professional skills required to become an effective primary school teacher on our one-year full time Primary PGCE. On completion of the course you will achieve Qualified Teacher Status.

The PGCE Post-Compulsory is the professional qualification for those who wish to teach in the post-compulsory sector, which includes further education colleges and adult education. The PGCE Post-Compulsory can be studied full-time at our Harcourt Hill Campus, or part-time at one of our partner colleges.
