Dr Megan Crawford elected as teaching staff governor

Dr Megan Crawford has recently been elected as teaching staff governor at Oxford Brookes University. Dr Megan Crawford is Reader in Education and has previously worked at the Institute of Education, London, Warwick University and the Open University. Her background is in primary schools, where she was a Deputy Head teacher. She is currently Chair of the British Educational Leadership, Management and Administration Society (BELMAS www.belmas.org.uk). Megan is very involved in Governing Schools, and was the Teaching Awards Governor of the Year, East of England, in 2009/10. She has been a governor of five schools, and is Chair of Governors at Oakgrove School, Milton Keynes. She was on the Board of Governors of the IOE, London for three years. Her research encompasses principal preparation and emotion and leadership. Her book, ‘Getting to the heart of leadership’ was published by Sage in 2009.
