Eric White wins RAI Fellowship

Monday, 23 May 2011

Brookes lecturer Dr Eric White has recently been awarded Vacation Visiting Fellowship at the Rothermere American Institute in the University of Oxford for Christmas, Easter and Summer 2011–12.

The RAI is an international centre of excellence dedicated to the interdisciplinary and comparative study of the United States. The focus of his research programme at the RAI will be to complete his first monograph (The Transatlantic Avant-Garde: Little Magazines and Localist Modernism, 1912-1932, forthcoming from EUP) and to consolidate two further research projects: a critical edition of the early prose of William Carlos Williams, and completing early chapters for a new monograph, A Machine of Mirrors: Technology and American Identity in the Modernist Transatlantic. Eric will also be focusing on ways to develop American and transatlantic modernist studies across institutions in Oxford.
