Holocaust Survivor Public Talk: Zigi Shipper: In and Beyond Auschwitz

Monday, 18 March 2013

The Department of History, Philosophy and Religion welcomed Holocaust survivor Zigi Shipper for a talk on his experiences, entitled In and Beyond Auschwitz, to a packed Main Lecture Theatre on 11 March 2013. Organised by our 3rd year student Katie Russell with the assistance of Tudor Georgescu, the event was kindly supported by the department, together with the History of Race and Eugenics Research Group, and the Holocaust Educational Trust. It offered a moving account of humanity set against the backdrop of a dehumanising ideology and shocking cruelty.
