Launch Party for Oxford Brookes Alumna’s Third Novel

Monday, 22 May 2017

Oxford Brookes would like to congratulate alumna Rachel Crowther on the upcoming publication of her third novel. Every Secret Thing is set to be published on 29 June, with a launch party being held on the 1 July at Woodstock Town Hall. The venue has previously played host to many prestigious authors, including Joanna Trollope, Jane Gardam and Patrick Gale.

Rachel completed her MA in Creative Writing at Oxford Brookes in 2011.  While she was completing her MA, Rachel successfully entered her first novel The Partridge and the Pelican  to the Hookline novel competition, seeing it published in April 2011. Rachel’s second novel was published in August 2016, the first of a two book deal with Bonnier Zaffre.

"Having had my first novel published during the MA course at Brookes, and submitted part of the second for my MA dissertation, I was very much launched by the MA, and I'm thrilled that my third novel, Every Secret Thing is coming out this summer. The opportunity to experiment, to be pushed outside your comfort zone, to discuss your work with other students and established writers is invaluable, and I'm proud to be part of the success story of the Brookes Creative Writing MA course."

There will be a £5 charge on the door, returned if you buy a copy of the book on the night.
