National Mooting Competition Success

Friday, 07 February 2014

On February 4th the GDL mooting team of Jack Thorp and Rachel Sullivan defeated the University of Oxford in the second round of this year's ESU Essex Court National Mooting Competition, which was held before Richard Benson QC in the Moot Court at Headington Hill Hall. Jack and Rachel now progress to the third round of the ESU Essex Court National Mooting Competition, where they will face either the University of Cardiff or the University of South Wales.
This follows the excellent performances of the GDL mooting team of Jo Moore and Susie Fellows, and of the undergraduate mooting team of Ed Gross and Matt Charters, who represented Oxford Brookes at the annual Inner Temple Inter-Varsity Mooting Competition which took place last Sunday at Inner Temple. Both Oxford Brookes teams reached the last 16 of the Inner Temple competition, with Ed and Matt defeating Buckinghamshire University before just losing out to City University, and Jo and Susie defeating the University of Cambridge, before very narrowly losing to the University of Bristol.
