Rico Isaacs interviewed by EurasiaNet

Dr. Rico Isaacs, of Oxford Brookes’ Department of International Relations, Politics and Sociology, was recently interviewed by the EurasiaNet website. EurasiaNet provides information and analysis about political, economic, environmental and social developments in the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus, as well as in Russia, Turkey, and Southwest Asia. The aim is to promote informed decision making among policy makers, as well as broadening interest in the region among the general public. Rico was asked to comment on the impact of the recent Organisation for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) summit which was recently held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on regional relations between Central Asian states.  Rico has published previously on the Central Asian region in particular in relation to party development, the nature and stability of the region’s authoritarian regimes and efforts of democratization promotion in the region by external actors such as the EU and the OSCE.
