Senior lecturer appointed to position of research chair
Friday, 09 December 2016
Dr Tom Crook, senior lecturer in Modern British History, has been appointed as chair of the university's research degrees sub-committee.
As chair, Tom will be part of the committee that oversees the regulation and supervision of PhD research across the university as a whole.
When discussing the role Tom said: “One of the reasons I applied for the job was so that I could engage with different subject areas, and promote and support the fantastic postgraduate research that is undertaken here at Oxford Brookes.”
Professor Joanne Begiato, head of History, Philosophy and Religion, commended Tom on his new role, saying that “It is great that Tom has been appointed to the role of Chair of the Research Degree Sub-Committee, and it is particularly heartening for the department to have a member taking on this key role on such an important committee.”
