Theatre companies audition Oxford Brookes' drama students for productions

Tuesday, 04 October 2011

Last week Oxford Brookes Drama welcomed two theatre companies to the Drama Studio to hold auditions for students. On Wednesday 28th September we were visited by Jo Noble of the Oxford Playhouse 16/22 youth company, who held a taster workshop session for excited students. Those fortunate enough to become part of the company will begin work on March's production of Animal Farm at the Playhouse.
On Thursday 29th September we welcomed Lizzie McBain from "under construction" theatre company, who invited students to bring poems, speeches, found objects or devised pieces on the subject of 'fire'. All students auditioned were successful and will be joining Lizzie in devising a site-specific piece designed for the re-opening of the Old Fire Station in Oxford.
It was an exciting and exhilarating experience for all the students concerned.
