Health and Safety courses

  • The Health and Safety team offer a number of courses. These include mandatory health and safety training (DSE and Health and Safety induction) or additional training which staff may require i.e. manual handling (dependant of role), fire Marshall etc.  

    To book a course, please click on the link below. Once the health and safety team receive your request, your name will be added to a list and when they receive sufficient numbers, they will invite you to the training.

    Course title Description Who is it for? Duration
    COSHH assessment training This course will provide you with the information to be able to undertake COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) assessments. Anyone working with or managing staff who work with chemicals or cleaning products 2 hours

    Fire marshal training

    This course covers the principles of fire, how fire spreads and how to evacuate a building safely Fire marshals 2 hours
    Noise awareness training This course will cover the regulations, noise reduction and how to wear and select the correct personal protective equipment. Those who work in potentially noisy environments 2 hours

    Risk assessment training

    This course will cover the general principles of how to conduct risk assessments, and can be tailored for individual areas or specific subjects, eg manual handling assessments. Those who undertake risk assessments 2 hours
