OBUHSN-34 Appendix 1: Guidance for managers on staff at risk
To decide what categories of staff may be susceptible to risk of injury when carrying out manual handling, consideration must be given to:
- The tasks being undertaken;
- The loads to be moved;
- Working environment;
- Individual capability.
Examples of manual handling categories who are most susceptible to risk of injury:
- Caretakers;
- Storekeepers;
- Library Staff;
- Audio - Visual Staff;
- Catering Services Staff;
- Grounds Staff;
- Print Room Staff;
- Technicians who move large components/equipment.
