Enrolment and induction

  • When to arrive

You can move into university accommodation from Saturday 15 July 2018. Welcome and registration for your course (induction) begins on Thursday 19 July (9:30 am in John Snow Room JHB408). Teaching begins on Monday 23 July. You will receive a timetable for your classes during induction.

    Induction timetable

Here is your induction timetable which includes information on the activities you should attend. These include:

    • Face-to-face enrolment  - this is when you formally join the university. Once you have enrolled you will be given your student card that gives you access to all of the university's facilities.
    • Subject Co-ordinator meetings - this will give you the chance to meet your Subject Co-ordinator and get your module handbooks
    • Campus tour - see the fantastic facilities of our Headington Campus.

You will need to bring to registration:

    • Proof that payment of the course fee has been made (or payment if you have not yet done this). If you are being sponsored for your studies you must bring an official letter of sponsorship with you.
    • 2 passport sized photographs (there are places on campus where you can have these taken)
    • Passport (and biometric card if you have one) – you will not be permitted entry to enrolment without these or an official letter from the home office confirming they are with them for renewal.
    • A copy of your offer letter - this will have been emailed to you. A paper copy can be sent on request.
    • A completed Oxford Brookes International registration form. If possible, please complete the form in Adobe Reader electronically and email it to  pathways@brookes.ac.uk before your arrival.

If you do not pay the course fee by/at enrolment, the issuing of your student card will be delayed and you will not have access to the university facilities. You are advised to pay your course fees before you arrive in Oxford to speed up the enrolment process and issuing of your student card.

You should aim to be at Oxford Brookes University in time for induction and enrolment activities on Thursday 19 July 2018.

If you are not able to attend by this date then please contact the Pathways Student Support Team: obi-studentsupport@brookes.ac.uk

The absolute deadline for registering/enrolling is Friday 27 July 2018.

    Teaching dates

Teaching starts on Monday 23rd July 2018.

Here is your induction timetable and you will also receive this during the induction and enrolment period.

If you are at all unsure as to where your classes are please check with the student support team in the International Centre. You can also  download a campus map (pdf) or  view the map on our website.

Some students will need to register with the police within 7 days after you arrive in Oxford or after you have received UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). If you need to register, this will be shown on your visa sticker on your passport or on your UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). We can confirm this for you once you have arrived.

Please see the International Student Advice Team police registration webpage for information on how to register.

If you already have a police registration certificate, you must tell the Oxford police if you have changed your address, have extended your permission to stay in the UK or any other details on your PRC. You do not have to pay again to do this.

Any queries then please email the Pathways Support Team.
