    ISAT are based on the ground floor, next to the Forum in the John Henry Brookes Building.


    The John Henry Brookes Building is the focus of activity outside of class and has a wide range of catering facilities to suit your needs, tastes and budget:

    • Cafe Central in the Forum sells a range of coffees, pastries, snacks, sandwiches and bagels.
    • The Deli has a range of salads, baguettes and snacks, which is next to the Student Union on the ground floor.
    • Taylor's Yard serves chicken and pasta dishes.
    • The Terrace is our main restaurant for lunch with hot street food, salads, soups and jacket potatoes.

    Cheney Village

    The cafe and bar in the Sports Centre sells a wide range of crepes, sandwiches, pizzas, drinks and cakes. The cafe is next to Cheney Student Village.

    Other places available ...

    There is a food shop in the Colonnade as well as several coffee shops including Starbucks.

    Once you have completed face-to-face enrolment at Oxford Brookes you will have full access to all the computer facilities.

    There is an IT Services Desk on each campus that provide support for the most popular applications. On the Headington Campus this is in the Forum in the John Henry Brookes Building.

    The Headington Library is the largest library and covers most subject areas. You will have a library orientation so you are familiar with finding your way around.

    Details of all libraries, including where they are, how to get to them and the opening hours are available on the library webpages. Each subject area has its own subject librarian who answers queries, teaches information skills and generally looks after the library needs of the students and staff in their subject areas.

    Once you have enrolled as a student, you will be able to use the library.

    There are also two large, well-stocked bookshops in Oxford city centre: Waterstone's and another branch of Blackwell's.

    On the Headington Campus is the Centre for Sport. Facilities include:

    • A gym
    • Health Suite, including steam room and sauna
    • Weights training room
    • Climbing wall
    • Sports hall suitable for five-a-side football, badminton, basketball and volleyball
    • All-weather floodlit hockey or football pitch

    There are also sports clubs that you can join - a great way to meet people, try something new and have fun.

    There are prayer and worship facilities for various faiths on campus with the Brookes Chaplaincy and there may be opportunities to meet students from other religions.

    Oxford itself is also home to a number of faith communities which offer a warm welcome to international students.

    The Medical Centre on-campus in the Colonnade is open in Semesters 1 and 2. During the summer semester (Semester 3) you can use the St Bartholomew's Medical Centre near to the University in Headington, on Manzil Way, Cowley Road, Oxford. OX4 1XB.

    All students are advised to have the MMR and Meningitis C vaccination before arriving at University, please check with your own GP before arriving to check you are up to date.
