Students from Malaysia have been coming to Oxford Brookes for many years and we currently have a number of Malaysian students enrolled at the University.

Our Malaysian students enjoy a wide range of subjects at the university, including Law, Architecture, Accounting and Finance, Automotive Engineering and Hotel and Restaurant Management.

We now have academic excellence scholarships of £2,000 available to foundation students from Malaysia and £1,000 scholarships for pre-master's students progressing to a pre-master's course. Please see the Finance section below.

We welcome students from many faiths and have a special Muslim Student Guide with information about the Muslim community here in Oxford and at the university.

Our School of Architecture was recently visited by the Malaysian architecture council - The Council of Architectural Accreditation Education of Malaysia (CAAEM) - Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia, to undertake a validation visit. The outcome of this visit was that Part 1 (BA Hons in Architecture) and Part 2 (MArchD Applied Design in Architecture) have been recognised and validated by the Council until 2021.

Entry requirements vary depending on the course you are applying for. Equivalent academic qualifications can be accepted and we are happy to consider applicants on a case by case basis. * For our Pre-sessional University English and 1 year foundation courses you must take an IELTS for UKVI test. Advanced standing

We welcome and support applications to Oxford Brookes University for all levels of study and you may find that your current studies count towards an Oxford Brookes University Award. This would shorten the length of time you need to study at Brookes as you could enter our degree programmes in year two or three.

Finance

We now have academic excellence scholarships of £2,000 available to students from Malaysia for our foundation courses and £1,000 for our pre-master's courses.

KDU

We have a 2+1 Oxford Brookes degree programme with KDU for Law students. You will study for the years 1 and 2 of your Law degree at KDU and then come to Oxford Brookes for year 3. If you do not take the year 3 you will be awarded a diploma from Oxford Brookes University.

Brickfields Asia College Malaysia

Oxford Brookes University School of Law have a progression agreement with Brickfields Asia College Malaysia. We welcome students from Brickfields Asia College Malaysia to apply to Second or Final Year Entry onto our LLB Law programme. All applications must be made through Brickfields Asia College.

Chiu Lee Lim
BA Law (LLB)

I chose OBU because of the location and environment as Oxford is a very nice place to live. Living in Oxford enabled me to learn about the English culture.

The course was good and we had a variety of choices in terms of electives. We also received a weekly newsletter with job opportunities which enabled me to secure a part-time job as a tutor in Barton Community Centre whilst studying and a paid internship after graduation.

I enjoy being here because Brookes doesn’t ask you to follow a certain style but instead your lecturers all help you to develop your own thinking and your own style of Architecture. They give you options for you to explore them yourself.

I like the fact that it has a beautiful environment and is quiet and homely. You can definitely concentrate when you have to study and not be distracted much. The culture is different but the people, including my academic tutors, are very friendly. I made a lot of new friends in my first year and they’re all really nice and wanted to learn more about my culture
