Whether a student or member of staff at Oxford Brookes you will use the same essential IT systems and services for teaching, learning or supporting the University's core business.
If a student, you will be keen to get connected to the Wi-Fi (eduroam) either in halls or around campus to check your timetable, Google account or Moodle (our virtual learning environment). If living in hall you will need to connect to the wired internet access Hallnet. We also have some very useful bespoke mobile apps for finding your way around, catching a bus or finding an available PC to use.
If a colleague, you will need to activate your Google Apps account, get your mobile devices connected to eduroam and perhaps organise some IT training to familiarise yourself with the core business systems. You may also want to work flexibly and access University systems while working off site.
All of us need to print at some point and the University is currently moving into a managed print or Print Anywhere environment that has the advantages of multi-functional devices that allow you to collect your print from any device on any campus. An essential part of using print - as a student - is topping up your printing charge account.
