Disability Confident Scheme
Oxford Brookes has signed up to Disability Confident, a
government sponsored scheme, and is committed to taking positive steps to
attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people and those with health
conditions.
We guarantee to interview any disabled applicant who meets
the essential selection criteria for the job.
To apply for a job, you must complete the online application
form. If you require an alternative
method of application, please contact the HR Recruitment Team on 01865 485960
or email
hrteam-recruitment@brookes.ac.uk
When you complete the online job application, the final
section “EDI Monitoring” includes questions about whether you consider yourself
to have a disability.
Someone is disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if they have
a physical or mental impairment that has a “substantial” and “long-term”
adverse effect on their ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.
Any information provided is confidential and will be used
for monitoring purposes only. It will
not usually prompt a discussion about adjustments that you might need.
If you choose to declare a disability, you are automatically
included in the Disability Confident Scheme unless you opt out. If you don’t wish to take part in the Scheme then
you should select “no” in the drop down menu against the question “Are you
taking part in Disability Confident?”.
If you require alternative arrangements, for example, for
interview, delivery of presentations or any skills tests, please detail these
in the “Additional notes” box.
Your inclusion in the Disability Confident Scheme, although
not the nature of your disability, will only be shared with the Recruiting
Manager at the shortlisting stage and will be available to the HR Recruitment
Team.
If you require further information or have any queries,
please contact our HR Recruitment Team on 01865 485960 or email hrteam-recruitment@brookes.ac.uk.
