Google Chromebooks

A Chromebook is a different type of laptop. It runs a web browser (Google Chrome) and nothing else. Chromebooks are ideal for email, web searches, accessing the Virtual Learning Environment, searching library databases - in fact, pretty much anything that is internet-based. Because it is web-based, it runs Google's own applications which include word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and, of course, Google Mail.

They are available to borrow for free from the self-service cabinets at Headington Road (JHBB Forum), Swindon Library or Marston Road (MRG44). You will need your staff or student ID card.  Ask at the desk to borrow a Chromebook at Harcourt Hill or Wheatley libraries.

In addition, on the Headington campus laptops are available to borrow from smart lockers.
