Brookes networked PCs, Word and EndNote - temporary method of access

If you are using a Brookes networked PC to access EndNote and Word and the EndNote tab does not appear in Word, please follow the instructions below to enable the EndNote plugin

    • close down Word
    • Select AppsAnywhere and launch EndNote (you need to do this whether you are using the Web or desktop version)
    • Once EndNote desktop has launched, reopen Word and the EndNote plugin should have appeared. You can then close the desktop version if not needed.

EndNote is a service which allows you to collect, store & manage your own collection or 'library' of references. You can transfer references from many library catalogues and databases into your EndNote Library. You can also use EndNote to create in-text citations and bibliographies in Word documents, formatted in the style of your choice.

EndNote is available as a Web version (also known as EndNote Basic) and a desktop version. To see which version best meets your needs, go to the Thomson Reuters web site to view an in-depth comparison of the two (PDF file).
