Transferring references and PDFs into EndNote Web

  • It's possible to transfer references from many databases into EndNote Web. Methods vary, with some offering a direct export option, while others require you to save a file of references and then import it into your EndNote Web library. Below is a list of the Library databases which we have tested and which work with EndNote Web, with full instructions for each. Note that if a database does not work with EndNote Web you would need to copy and paste individual references.

EndNote Web also offers 5GB of file storage space so you can attach PDFs to the associated references in your Library:

    • First add the reference to your Library - check the list below if transferring the reference from a database.
    • Download the PDF to your computer or to a drive or storage device.
    • Go to the relevant reference in your EndNote Web library and click on the paperclip icon below it. Click the "Attach file" link. In the dialogue box, click on the "Browse" button and locate the file you wish to upload. Click the "Upload" button and a copy of the file will be attached to the reference in your EndNote Web library.
