Two Brookes Library Moodle courses are available to help OBBS students.
'A guide to Business and Economics databases' is designed to introduce you to key information sources that you will use throughout your course.
The second course is about using Endnote Web referencing software. Endnote is a tool for storing and organising your references, and it will also work with Word to create a fully formatted bibliography from your reference library in Brookes Harvard format.
For more guidance and links to the databases, you should also explore and bookmark your subject help page.
This is a training course to teach you the skills that you need to search the databases and also about their contents: the journal articles, market research reports, company news, financial information, economic reviews and analysts reports that you will be using frequently during your course. We think you will be amazed by what you can find!
You will need to use your Brookes login to enrol on the Moodle course
Click here to connect to the databases course.
Click on Enrol me. The course will be added to your Moodle dashboard so you can easily find it again.
Work your way through each section to get a good overview of the resources available, and then try the quizzes to check your progress.
Adding the sources you use in your studies to your EndNote Web library will help you to keep track of your references. References can be input into EndNote manually, but often you will be able to pull them through automatically from the databases you use with a few clicks. If you follow the instructions we provide, then when you are writing an assignment you can pull your references into Microsoft Word, all in the right format and order!
To help you we have provided a training course on using EndNote Web.
You need your Brookes login to self enrol on the course.
