  • There are many health care databases relevant to operating department practice. Some of the key ones are:

    • CINAHL nursing and allied health care from Europe and North America.
    • Cochrane Library the gold standard database for evidence based practice information.
    • PubMed biomedicine and nursing, compiled by the National Library of Medicine (USA).
    • Web of Science includes Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index.

    There are plenty of books relevant to your course available online. Have a look for the ones on your reading lists. A couple of the key texts are listed below. If you have problems accessing them, please let us know.

    The following key journals are all available to you either electronically or in print in the Swindon Library.
