Stimulating and interesting midwifery study day

Thursday, 15 December 2011

Seventy delegates attended a stimulating and interesting study day of midwifery workshops, which forms part of an undergraduate module for midwifery students. Attendees comprised a range of students who included midwifery and osteopathy, midwifery practitioners and educators. Delegates participated in two complementary workshops; one led by an Italian midwife, Verena Schmidt who teaches and has written books about optimising the physiology of birth, and a French osteopath who also shares a passion for the physiology of pregnancy, childbirth and beyond, Ghislaine Gautreau.

Some comments from the evaluation: “Inspirational speakers and good practical advice and tools”, “Very exciting, great mix of theory/practice … thank you for such an interesting day that hopefully will enhance my knowledge and practice”.
