Meningitis ACWY

  • Do you need vaccination?

If you have not been vaccinated against meningitis ACWY or MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) before coming to University, you must get protected as soon as possible.

Most UK children are given two MMR vaccines as a baby or at school. Students starting University for the first time are advised to have the meningitis ACWY vaccine.

    Who needs vaccination?

    • If you missed your vaccination at school
    • If you are an overseas student you may not have had these vaccines

For Students registered with Brookes Medical Centre (postcodes OX3 and OX4 only) there will be vaccination clinics throughout Induction Week, see below. If you cannot make any of the Drop In times please make a nurse appointment for the following week.

For students living outside postcode areas OX3 and OX4 you will need to register with the closest GP. Students living at Harcourt Hill Campus can register with the Botley Medical Centre and students living at Wheatley Campus can register with the Wheatley Surgery. For more surgeries within your area, please visit NHS Choices.
