Getting online - four things you need to know

    1. WIFI

At Brookes we offer two free wifi options to University staff, students and guests.

Brookes WiFi is our guest wifi service available across all campuses and most halls of residence. Please ask at reception or help desks for the password once you are on site.

eduroam is the world-wide roaming access service that allows students, researchers and staff to obtain internet connectivity across campus and when visiting participating institutions. You will need your Brookes email address and password.

    2. Hallnet – wired internet connection in your hall room

You need to have completed face-to-face enrolment before you register for HallNet. It has to be done from your own computer in your room in hall, and involves going to the HallNet webpage and logging in using your student number and new password. The act of logging in registers you and your computer. An Ethernet cable will be available at your hall reception. We do not provide cables for Apple devices.

    3. Google Mail and Google Calendar

To log in to the Google apps you will need your student number (on your student card) and password (given to you at face-to-face enrolment).

Please note: when using your student number for Google Mail, remember to add @brookes.ac.uk (i.e. 1234567@brookes.ac.uk)

Google drive: you will get unlimited file storage on Google Drive.

    4. PIP - Your Personal Information Portal

      • Navigation: use the tabs at the top of each page to navigate around the different sections.
      • My PIP tab: in this section you can view your personal details and amend your contact details.
      • My Record and Results tab: here you can view your modules and course details and add/delete modules. Undergraduate Modular Programme students can make online request changes.
      • My Enrolment & Accounts tab: you can see your course fees and re-enrol online after your first year.
