Introduction to Coaching

  • Who is it for?

    For all people interested in developing their coaching skills. It is recommended for managers, in particular, those people who are in their first management or team leader role as well as people who provide one-to-one support and assistance to others.

    Overview

    This highly practical programme covers the role and responsibilities of coach, what makes an effective coach and the organisational benefits coaching brings. Working with a recognised coaching model, learners develop practical skills as well learn about tools and techniques to support their practice.

  • The aim of this session is to equip managers and other staff with key information to start coaching colleagues at work.

    1. Explored what coaching is
    2. Considered when it is appropriate to use coaching in the workplace
    3. Identified the benefits of coaching
    4. Developed their listening and questioning skills
    5. Practised coaching using the GROW model
