  • Mental health awareness training supports participants to:

    • Develop an understanding of what good mental health is

    • Look at the effect of stress on our mental health

    • Recognise signs and symptoms at work

    • Explore what works in terms of treatment and support, including self help materials

    • Looks at how to promote mental well being in the workplace.

  • Gemma has over 20 years’ experience working in the field of mental health. She has been working for Charlie Waller Memorial Trust for 3 years as Schools and Workplace Trainer. Gemma delivers training on a national basis delivering Adult MHFA, Line Manager Training and One day Mental Health Awareness Training in the Workplace. She also delivers training in Schools, Colleges and Universities. 

    Alongside her work with CWMT she is also a Senior Clinical Associate Trainer for beat, National Eating Disorder Charity. Gemma currently is involved in beats delivery of Hidden in Plain Sight, University Training in Eating Disorders and Spotting the Signs, Schools Training.

    Gemma is a freelance MHFA Instructor. Gemma has been delivering the MHFA training for 3 years.

    Gemma worked at the University of Huddersfield for 5½ years as a Mental Health Advisor supporting students with mental health difficulties. Gemma also set up a number of peer support groups including an Eating Disorder Support Group. Gemma continues to deliver training at the university including MHFA Adult course, Eating Disorder Awareness training and bespoke training sessions; including workplace sessions. 

    Prior to working in education she worked in the NHS within specialist eating disorder services as a Clinical Team Manager. She worked in the NHS for 16 years.
