    You are performing a Project Manager role on a medium size project.  You will cover the full  Project Fundamentals Qualification (PDF) syllabus and sit the exam for the opportunity to hold this industry recognised qualification from APM (Chartered Body for Project Management).

    To provide you with a foundation level understanding of the project management profession, terminology and methodology, so that you can effectively manage a small/medium project at Oxford Brookes. In addition, prepare for and take the PFQ exam.

    By the end of this course you will be able to:

    • define a project and how it is different to business as usual
    • explain the benefits and components of project management
    • analyse your project environment using the PESTLE approach
    • list all the stages of a project life cycle and outline the tasks within them
    • define the responsibilities of all the main project roles
    • describe the benefits and components of all the main project tools and documentation (business case, risk log, comms plan, etc.)
    • explain how a project manager can effectively:
      • design and plan a project
      • estimate and schedule tasks and resources
      • manage stakeholders and plan communications
      • define and manage scope and change
      • define and manage quality in a project context
      • monitor, report and review progress
      • identify and manage risks and issues
      • develop and lead an effective project team
    • identify where to go for more information and support
    It is a 1 hour exam which consists of 60 multiple choice questions. The exam will be scheduled for the following week after the course, this is to allow time for revision if you wish to.
    If you pass the exam you will be accredited with the Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) which is an industry recognised qualification accredited by the Association for Project Managers (APM) - the chartered body for Project Management.

    Course and accreditation/exam fee: £200. This fee is to cover the cost of the exam and your professional accreditation from APM.

    Please note a cancellation fee will apply for cancellation within a week of the exam.
