Personal Time management

  • Who's it for
    This is an online course, so you can work through it at your own pace and when it suits you.  It is likely to take you a total of about 4 hours, but this will vary with individuals.

    Managing your time effectively is a personal issue.  Individuals have different ways of organising themselves and dealing with the the events which seem to "steal" time from us.  Sometimes there simply are too many things to do, but often there are one or two things you do or don't do which could make a difference to managing your time effectively.

  • Working through this course will enable you to diagnose the key behaviours and strategies that could make a difference for you. This will vary with individuals.  It will do this in four sections with the following learning objectives:

    1. Time Log
      Examine how you use time now by keeping a time log for a day
    2. Doing the 'right' thing at the 'right' time
      Analyse how you could organise your time better and choose priorities
      Identify leverage tasks which could help you spend less time on "fire-fighting"
      Take more control over the tasks which appear to be urgent but could wait
    3. You your brain and time management
      Increase your awareness of yourself and your personal preferences and skill
      Understand how your brain can handle tasks better

    4. Managing "time stealers”
      Identify strategies to help you:
    By the end of the course, you will have a personal action plan to make changes.
