Academic leadership development

  • As a leader and manager at Oxford Brookes, your role includes setting the direction for your team in the context of the Brookes’ vision and 2035 strategy and faculty/directorate objectives, running regular team meetings to keep staff informed and answer their questions about issues, holding regular 1:1 meetings and PDRs to review staff performance and development, and managing resources efficiently and effectively.

New resource for supporting conversations in times of change and transition

This short 20 minute webcast and supporting guidance focuses on the on-going conversations with academic colleagues dealing with changes to their role priorities over the next few months. These conversations aim to safeguard colleagues’ wellbeing by avoiding overload, facilitate the re-prioritisation process, develop shared clarity, and reassure colleagues about temporarily relinquishing some work to make time for delivering the university’s current priorities.
