  • Headington Campus

There is no parking available at Headington Campus except for disabled badge holders who should contact us in advance (see below for details).

If you intend to drive, please see below for the most suitable Park & Ride options. Oxford has excellent public transport links, and you will have no trouble getting around on open day on our free BROOKESbus service. Oxford railway station and all the car parks that we recommend are served by our Open Day BROOKESbus service and there will be staff present in green t-shirts to guide you to the bus stops - they are here to help, so make sure you ask them!

  • Available carparks:
    Thornhill Park & Ride (OX3 8DP)

There will be a small charge of £2 to park at Thornhill Park & Ride. You can avoid queueing on the day by paying for parking in advance at www.parkreg.co.uk. This Park & Rides is serviced by the U1 BROOKESbus, which connects the Park & Rides with Headington Campus, the city centre and Harcourt Hill and Wheatley campuses. The U1 runs from 8.15am throughout the day and into the evening. If you are visiting the Marston Road site, you can get the U7 BROOKESbus service directly there from Thornhill Park & Ride.

Disabled badge holders must pre-book a space on campus by contacting uniopenday@brookes.ac.uk or 01865 484848 with your vehicle registration number and any details of your requirements. We will then be able to allocate a car parking space, and can make any other arrangements for you as necessary.

Please note that there is no parking on Headington Campus, these directions are for drop off only. If you are a disabled blue badge holder, there are spaces available on campus. If you need to book a disabled parking space, please get in touch - this space will be in the Gipsy Lane car park outside the Clerici building.

From the south - take the M40, leave at junction 8 and follow the signs for Oxford along the A40. Then follow the signs for the city centre on the London Road.

From the north - take the M40, leave at junction 8a and follow the signs for Oxford along the A40. Then follow the signs for the city centre on the London Road.

If you are coming to Oxford via another route we recommend taking the ring road to the Headington Roundabout and following the signs to the city centre along the London Road.

From all routes - continue along London Road, past the Headington shops. Go straight on at the traffic lights with the White Horse public house on the right and then at the next set of traffic lights turn left. Headington Campus is on the right. Headington Hill site is approximately a further 500 metres straight on from the Headington Campus junction on the right.

Car parking is severely restricted and you should not bring your car to either site unless you have a disabled parking space booked in advance. Parking in the surrounding area is almost non-existent and you should consider using the other options listed on this page.

There are direct train services to Oxford from London and many other UK towns and cities. Please only use Oxford railway station in the city centre, not Oxford Parkway as it is not serviced by our free BROOKESbus.

You can plan your journey with National Rail.

There will be staff members in green t-shirts at the train station to direct you to the bus stop you need. You can get the U1 bus from outside the train station directly to Headington Campus, as well as into the city centre and to Harcourt Hill and Wheatley campuses.

From London there are two direct coach services, both running every 10-15 minutes during the day, dropping you off right outside our Headington Campus.

Coach services from London take approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Birmingham, Coventry, Leeds and Sheffield all have direct coach links to Gloucester Green coach station in the city centre. From other UK cities you will need to change. Find more information at National Express.

To go directly to Headington Campus from Gloucester Green, it is a 5 minute walk to the city centre where you can catch a U1 BROOKESbus to the campus. Catch the bus from from New Road (stop D3). Remember to show the driver your open day guide (in print or on a smartphone) for free travel on all BROOKESbus services for you and your guests on the day.
