swindon video nurse3

Recent graduate Julie Cracknell (BSc Adult Nursing - Swindon) is the star of a new video to promote Swindon Learning Town.

The video was filmed at the Oxford Brookes Swindon Campus in our state-of-the-art clinical skills teaching labs and the 200-seat lecture theatre. In it, Julie speaks of her journey to becoming a nursing student and what it’s like to study in Swindon.

Julie spoke eloquently at the launch event for Swindon Learning Town earlier this year, and was asked to tell her story on film to promote the Swindon Learning Town initiative.

Prior to joining the BSc Adult Nursing course in September 2015 in Swindon, Julie had worked for 15 years in the IT industry. She had always held ambitions of becoming a nurse, and explored her options for doing so in Swindon.

Julie graduated this summer with a first class honours degree.

Swindon aims to be the first town in England to become part of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, to demonstrate its strong commitment to lifelong learning.

So far in the UK, only Swansea and Bristol have become UNESCO Learning Cities.

The film was produced by Create Studios, Swindon.
