The Supportive Care Research Group aims to conduct research to inform how services delivered to patients and their families can be improved. Our research is currently focussed on three conditions: Cancer, Heart Failure and Diabetes. The group is inter-disciplinary, and has strong links with clinical partners.
Supportive care includes of services designed to meet the psychosocial, physical, information, and practical needs of patients throughout their journey. Using both quantitative and qualitative research, we will clearly identify the experiences and needs of differing groups of patients at every point of their journey. We will then seek to develop and test interventions to meet those needs.
