A cabaret of award winners and performance poets from all over the city - and the world - presented by Kate Clanchy (recently shortlisted for the Costa Best First Novel Prize for Meeting the English).
Starring some of Oxford’s brilliant young authors aged 14-18, this event will be a chance to celebrate the depth of writing talent in the city’s schools, and will include shortlisted and winning students from the prestigious Young Writer of the Year prize and Foyle Prize.
The evening will also feature Oxford's Youth Ambassador for Poetry, Azfa Awad, who will be reading poems from her first poetry collection, 'Beautiful Broken Homes', on which she is currently working. This will feature poems based around the themes of home, belonging and identity. Her spoken-word poetry is based on social activism and empowerment and she will also be performing this as part of the showcase.
