Course

  • Paramedic Science at Oxford Brookes University is a pre-registration undergraduate course approved by the Health and Care Professions Council, as an education pathway for Paramedic registration, and endorsed by the College of Paramedics.

Team members are involved in leading professional developments in Paramedic education and development which has created an exciting, innovative and vibrant programme nationally recognised as offering unique learning experiences.

Students are welcomed and supported into an active student-centred environment which aspires all graduates to provide opportunities such as organising student paramedic society events, providing peer learning support and mentoring, and researching contemporary practice.

Our teaching takes place at the Marston Road site which is located on the Universities Headington Campus in Oxford. This allows use of healthcare simulation facilities, including dedicated paramedic simulation resources (such as an extrication car and life-like mannequins), alongside the student learning zones and computer rooms. We have excellent IT and library resources which can be accessed on campus and externally via the web to use off-site during placement periods.

Practice education is available in a mixture of settings, this is to enhance structured development of Fundamental Care and Communication skills in Year One, Developing Paramedic Practice in Year Two and Enhanced Paramedic Practice in Year Three.
