Dr. Bogdan-Ionut Cirstea is currently a Research Fellow in Reinforcement Learning for Machine Theory of Mind (ToM) at VAIL, OBU, working on machine ToM with neuroscience inspiration with Prof. Fabio Cuzzolin (OBU, VAIL) and University of Cambridge collaborators.
Previously, he obtained a PhD in deep learning and quantum machine learning applied to handwriting recognition at Telecom ParisTech. Before that, he obtained a MSc in applied mathematics and machine learning from ENS Paris-Saclay and a BEng in computer engineering from Politehnica University in Bucharest.
My current research focuses on implementing machine Theory of Mind with inspiration from neuroscience, with a particular interest in algorithms which can infer and obey human preferences. More broadly, I am interested in aligning powerful AI with human preferences, AI safety and machine ethics.
