Role
I am a lecturer with a particular interest in how people work together e.g. as a team. This is the topic of my scholarship research. I am Subject Coordinator for the International Business Management Programme (BAH-BT) and work with our Programme Lead, Clive Wildish, to support our students throughout their 3 or 4 year degree programmes.

Courses
Modules taught
- Managing Careers,
- International Business Consultancy
- Global Business Communications
- Environmentally Sustainable Business
I am an academic advisor to a range of students, support business and management students from a variety of courses in planning their International Exchange Study programmes and work on projects across the Business School e.g. with Self-Assessment for programme accreditation. I have taught on a wide variety of modules across the Business School over the course of the last 5 years and draw upon my experience as a lawyer in local government and a business consultant (strategy and communication) throughout my teaching.
Research
I am currently exploring the impact for students of an understanding of their own personal communication style and of how understanding others' styles helps them in their assignment group work.
Research impact
I want to understand how students can benefit from learning HOW to work in teams as opposed to simply what to do as part of a successful team. I am helping to develop a team work toolkit for the Business School with the objective of supporting other tutors to support students to more satisfying and effective teamwork and assignment submissions.
University is a safe space to experiment and learn about how to work with different people and this has positive implications for students' employability skills as they move into work at the end of their university careers.
