Role
Oxford Brookes Centre for Nutrition and Health (OxBCNH) is a commercial centre which carries out studies on behalf of clients from the health and food industry including manufacturers, retailers and suppliers ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to multinational global organisations. This can range from testing on human participants including glycaemic testing, appetite and satiety studies, to testing on food products for polyphenols or in vitro testing.
I am passionate about helping people improve their health and knowledge on nutrition. I have written articles for various online and print magazines to help the general public understand the difference between scientific fact and myths.

Other experience
I have an MChem and worked in the biotechnology industry working in DNA sequencing for seven years. I started my career in lab based research to help develop a DNA sequencer which was faster and cheaper than the sequencers currently on the market. I was directly involved in the development and production of MinION and GridION products on the market today. My role moved on to a protocol transfer role to production lines through quality control systems.
Following a career change into Nutrition and having completed a MSc in Applied Human Nutrition, I went on to work for a food tech company as QA manager. This company combined AI and qualified nutritionists to allow people to find packaged food in supermarkets easier when they have a dietary restriction, whether this be an allergy or lifestyle choice. This role involved understanding the regulations for allergy and food packages in UK/EU and worldwide including US and Australia as well and understanding the nutritional trends and campaigns of different regions to help build the business.
