Role

I am an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing at Oxford Brookes University. Previously, I studied English at Oxford and had an MA in creative writing from the University of East Anglia, and a fully-funded PhD in creative writing at Oxford Brookes University.

I have published several poetry collections including the most recent collection 回家 Letters Home (Nine Arches Press), which explores migration, history, language and the meaning of home. The book has been named as a Wild Card Choice by Poetry Book Society. My poems, reviews and translations have appeared in World Literature Today, Oxford Poetry, Oxford Review of Books, The Rialto, Magma Poetry, Poetry Review, Poetry London, PN Review, Asian Cha and Asian Review of Books. She is writer-in-residence at Wasafiri for 2020-2021 and teaches creative writing at Poetry School and Oxford Brookes. I am also an advisor to Leeds University Centre for New Chinese Writing.

Research

I am currently working on a monograph in connection to the idea of writing elsewhere in contemporary Chinese diaspora poetry. My interests lie in the meaning of home, diasporic identity, migration and history in contemporary transnational literature, particularly poetry.
