Role

Richard's early career in international publishing with both global and small commercial organisations took him around the world, working in partnership with locally based organisations. Through this work he cultivated his interest in Fair Trade and justice in international trade.

After completing his MBA amongst an early cohort with the OU, Richard first became connected with Brookes to support an innovative web based multimedia educational venture he co-founded with a colleague from Ljubljana University to celebrate childhood around the globe. The underlying business ethics supported the principles of Fair Trade. The project involved working with DfID and other agencies such as Unesco, Reuters etc.

A Chartered marketer, Richard is part of the Bristol Management Team for Chartered Institute of Marketing, providing CPD to professional marketers in the Wessex region. Richard is also interested in business ethics and best practice in establishing fair trade principles as a norm.

Richard teaches on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has a keen interest in cultivating opportunities for collaboration and partnerships, sharing the knowledge and expertise within the business school with the wider business community.

Richard maintains his interests in both commercial and Not for Profit organisations, such as the NHS.
